About joseph
I’m Joseph Scranton — a 27-year-old mechanical engineer, maker, and problem-solver based in Massachusetts. I hold an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New England Institute of Technology, and I’ve built a career rooted in hands-on design, automation, and continuous learning.
From a young age, I’ve had a passion for engineering things that not only work well but serve a clear purpose — whether it's a machine that powers production or a custom part that solves a niche problem. Over the years, I’ve cultivated a diverse skill set in mechanical design, 3D printing, robotics integration, CAD modeling, automation troubleshooting, and electrical systems. I'm especially proud of my ability to move seamlessly between the physical and digital sides of engineering — from designing and prototyping custom components, to wiring and assembling machines, to programming their functionality.
Outside of work, I’m a family man. I’m married to my wonderful wife, Emily, and we’re raising two incredible kids — Joseph and Amara. My role as a father has deepened my appreciation for creative problem-solving and fueled many of my personal projects, like a tabletop arcade machine with a transforming lid, or a custom racing simulator built from aluminum extrusion and 3D-printed brackets.
In addition to my engineering work, I’ve developed tools to optimize workplace efficiency, such as a custom-built inventory management app for tracking and organizing End of Arm tooling parts. Whether it’s at work or at home, I bring the same mindset: build it better, smarter, and more purposefully.
If you’re looking to collaborate with someone who combines engineering discipline with creativity, practical know-how, and a relentless drive to improve — let’s connect.
